Some Helpful Tools

On this page you will find a variety of downloadable files that I have made available to help you overcome some of the problems that you may encounter. I've included to types of boot disks. The first one is just a simple boot disk that will allow you to use your CD-ROM's. The second one is a more complicated set of boot disks that have a wide variety of tools included to help you do more complicated tasks. This set also includes the utility Norton Ghost. These disk sets are available in two formats Ace, and Exe. In order to use the Ace format you will have to have a version of WinAce or something similar to extract the files. The Exe is a self extracting Ace file that walks you through making the disks. If you use the Ace version you will also need to know how to use the disk imaging software that is included in the archive. The CD-ROM image needs to be burned using your CD Burning software. If you can't burn the image using your software, let me know and I will either convert it for you, or explain how it can be done.

Single Floppy Boot Disk
The first link is to a single floppy disk that has been made from a windows 98 boot disk. It has a simple CD Rom driver so that you may start a non bootable windows CD installation.

Double Floppy Boot Disk Set

This set of boot disks was designed to do some of the basic commands like running fdisk, or ghost using a menu system. There are also other non microsoft programs included in this disk set. You will need to download the images seperately for this set as they are not zipped together.

Basic Bootable CD

This is just what it says. This is a basic bootable CD based on the SCG Single Boot Disk. There are no extras at this time, but that is subject to change. I just haven't had time to do the nesesary work to add the things that I would like to see on it. Also this file was created in the .ace format so you will need something that will open, and extract it.

DCP Floppy Disk Imaging Software
Here is a good software program that allows you to transfer the images above to floppy disks. I made this available to all of my customers, and I expect that if you use it you pay for it. It is a DOS based program, but it is still quite efficient.
